With the new and improved Carrying Case, there's no need for a Toy Closet! Now you can put almost every item or toyz you find into your case. Then no matter where you go, you'll have all the items you've collected with you AND you're able to take out as many of that item as you wish. You're no longer limited to only 9!!
Things like toyz and food can be found in the Playscenes and won by playing the minigames. It’s a lot like a scavenger hunt! Look in cabinets, on the walls, and in every room. Remember, for each item you find and put into the Carrying Case, you can then take EVERYWHERE with you.
The Petz Profile is now a part of the Carrying Case. When you bring out a Petz, you can click on the pink (or blue) icon next to their name.
Now the CD must be in your computer to play the game.
To import your Petz from Catz 4 or Dogz 4, on your computer open your Petz 4/Adopted Petz folder and copy the files into your Petz 5/Adopted Petz folder. Make sure neither game is running at the time.
You will be asked for a serial number when starting Petz 5 or Petz 4 (with the v4.2 patch) if your XP account does not have Administrative privileges. You should have no problem getting in the game by clicking "Cancel" when asked for a serial number. This does not happen if your XP account has Administrative privileges. There is no serial number required to play the newest versions, only the older ones.
The Nursery is where the mother takes all her babies to keep them safe until they're old enough to come out on their own. The Nursery is only accessible by mothers. They will first take you there when they announce the birth of their babies and each time after that when you take the mother out to play with her until her babies are old enough to be on their own. You cannot go to the Nursery Playscene through the ‘Go To’ menu, only automatically when you take a mother out.
For a finicky eater, soften their food with water from the kitchen sink. The food will look no different, but when you put the bowl down for your pet to eat they are more likely to eat than to refuse.
When you adopt your Petz they are puppies or kittens, but you can have newborns after your adults fall in love.
To help your Petz fall in love with each other, spray them with perfume, give them LUV treatz and play tunes to romance them! Heart pillows are helpful too.
You can tell your boys from your girls by the color of their icons - blue for boys and pink for girls.
The game must be launched (restarted) everyday to signal a new day. Leaving the game running will not register that a new day has begun. This often helps to fix 'stuck pregnancies'. But if you change your computer's calendar to advance age your Petz, and then set it back, you may CAUSE a stuck pregnancy.
How do you know when your Petz are adults? Look in their Petz profile by clicking on the pink or blue icon next to their name on the Carrying case.
Some Petz get cold in the Snow Scene. Remember to put a sweater on them first by visiting the Salon.
